Nestled in the heart of the Skokomish Valley, our family has proudly supplied fresh, high-quality Christmas trees since 1961. What began as a small operation founded by Haldane “Doc” Johnson and Patricia Johnson has grown into a multi-generational tradition rooted in hard work, love for the land, and a deep commitment to bringing holiday cheer to families across the globe.

In the early days, our trees were completely natural—grown wild and nurtured by the valley’s rich soil and gentle climate. Back then, trees were hand-scarred on each side with a machete to slow their growth, a technique that helped shape them more beautifully for the holidays. We’d give each tree a small dose of fertilizer to enhance its vibrant green color and ensure it looked its best when it reached your home.

As times changed, so did our farm. By the mid-1980s, we transitioned to fully cultivated, plantation-grown Christmas trees. This shift allowed us to grow more consistent, beautifully shaped trees while continuing to care for our land with sustainable practices. While Douglas Fir was our primary crop for many years, we’ve since expanded to include a diverse selection of Noble Fir, Fraser Fir, Grand Fir, Nordmann Fir and Pine to meet the varied preferences of our customers.

Today, our farm remains nestled at the foothills of the majestic Olympic Mountain Range, just outside Shelton, Washington. We cultivate approximately 2.5 sections of land, carefully managed to produce high-quality, plantation-grown Christmas trees.

What makes us most proud is that Olympic Mountain Evergreen continues to be family-owned and operated, with four generations working side by side. From planting and pruning to harvesting and loading, each tree that leaves our farm reflects decades of experience, craftsmanship, and a deep-rooted family tradition.

We are equally proud to operate this business not only in service to our customers but in support of the incredible team that makes it all possible. Our dedicated crew is the backbone of our farm—many of whom have worked with us for years—and we truly consider them part of the Olympic Mountain Evergreen family. Their commitment and care are woven into every tree we send out, helping us deliver the holiday spirit to homes near and far.
